Restaurantgroupie shares her top spots to eat great food and drink affordable Bordeaux in NYC

It’s a RestaurantGroupie takeover of the @BordeauxWines account! I’m sharing my top tips for tasty eats and affordable Bordeaux wines in NYC!

Momofuku Ssam Bar: 207 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10003

Chef @DavidChang is well known for his #Momofuku empire of restaurants, and one of the best large format dishes is this beautiful duck. Chef @maxxiko stuffs a pork and duck sausage under the skin of this Crescent Farm whole duck before cooking it on a rotisserie. Served with confit duck legs, chive pancakes and bibb lettuce for wrapping, hoisin, duck fat ginger scallion sauce, korean bbq sauce, legit kimchi and crispy shallots. This decadent feast pairs perfectly with this affordable magnum of Bordeaux wine!

Waverly Inn: 16 Bank St, New York, NY 10014

The greenhouse garden room at the #WaverlyInn is the perfect place to cozy up next to the fireplace with a glass of white Bordeaux and Chef @olorenzzi10″s beautiful salmon. This perfectly cooked pan roasted Scottish salmon is served with forbidden rice, fennel soubise, pickled red onions, then topped with a mix of micro celery, micro cilantro and a drizzle of agrumato lemon oil.  This historical landmark restaurant also has a beautiful bar where you can slide in for a glass of wine; a lovely list curated by Sommelier @JeffHarding.

Boucherie: 99 7th Ave S, New York, NY 10014

What”s better than eating al fresco? @BoucherieNYC is one of my favorite places to get steak in NYC and they are currently partnering with the infamous @PatLaFrieda to feature a #CutOfTheWeek every 2 weeks.  Really loved this 12oz @SnakeRiverFarm wagyu sirloin steak, cooked perfectly #MediumRare with blistered heirloom baby carrots.  Loved the Bordeaux by the glass options, which paired perfectly with this beautiful piece of meat.

MIA caffe (210 E 51st)

Love this beautiful @ChateauGabyWine from Bordeaux, and it pairs perfectly with the crispy pizzas @mia_caffe_nyc. The Italiana pizza has prosciutto, pesto, mozzarella, tomato, EVOO, arugula and parmesan shavings, while the Tartufo Nero is a white pie with black truffle cream, mozzarella, ricotta and truffle glaze.  This Italian caffe offers a few Bordeaux selections, which pair perfectly with their antipasto and pastas as well!
