As in previous years, Bordeaux Uncovered offers a unique insight into our world-famous wine region with updates on the latest trends and developments in the vineyards, an unparalleled opportunity to learn more about the Bordeaux appellations before finishing off with the ultimate blind-tasting challenge: will you be able to identify the key styles and appellations of Bordeaux?
Participants will be sent 6 x100ml bottles of wine from the new Hot 50 Bordeaux Selection, each hailing from a different Bordeaux appellation, prior to the session. Guided by their tutor, their challenge will be to blind taste both red and white wines and match them to the correct appellation.
“Everyone has an opinion on Bordeaux and its wines, but although many people think that it’s all red, it’s all expensive and it all needs laying down, that simply isn’t the case anymore. The truth is that Bordeaux produces some fantastic whites,” says accredited tutor and Bordeaux Uncovered host, Nina Cerullo. “The quality in the vineyards, the winery and in the bottle has changed hugely over the past few decades. This is a great opportunity to delve deeper into the key characteristics of the appellations, explore new styles and demystify some age-old clichés.”
