Certification environnementale Terra Vitis

Terra Vitis

In 2024, over 300 private cellars, cooperative members, cooperative cellars and Bordeaux negociants were Terra Vitis-certified.

Certification specific to the wine industry

Created in 1998, Terra Vitis is a national certification recognized by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. It exclusively concerns the wine industry, attesting to sustainable viticulture via responsible practices.

Terra Vitis also guarantees transparency and traceability for consumers since it applies to all stages of the wine production process.

Rigorous specifications

Terra Vitis specifications currently include nearly 80 certifying criteria. Compliance with these comprehensive specifications, drafted by and for winegrowers, helps guarantee their commitment in three key areas: environmental, societal and economic.

At the national level, the Terra Vitis label represents 7 regional associations, 1,880 private cellars, cooperative members, cooperative cellars and negociants, 45,000 hectares of vines (i.e. 5% of French vineyards) and 300 million bottles.
