L’École du Vin de Bordeaux announces packed programme of events at ProWein 2018

L’École du Vin de Bordeaux, the CIVB’s internationally renowned Bordeaux wine school, will be offering an insightful and topical programme of events at ProWein 2018 from 18th – 20th March, featuring wine and food seminars, tutored tastings and a selection of over 100 Bordeaux wines. The sessions will be hosted by Masters of Wine, wine experts and accredited tutors from L’École du Vin de Bordeaux.

L’École du Vin de Bordeaux, the CIVB’s internationally renowned Bordeaux wine school, will be offering an insightful and topical programme of events at ProWein 2018 from 18th – 20th March, featuring wine and food seminars, tutored tastings and a selection of over 100 Bordeaux wines. The sessions will be hosted by Masters of Wine, wine experts and accredited tutors from L’École du Vin de Bordeaux.

The packed schedule will include: Lively, fruity and elegant: The dry white wines from Bordeaux with Markus Del Monego MW, Bordeaux with all your senses, A sensory wine and food pairing seminar for sommeliers & gastronomy with Sebastian Bordthäuser, Sommelier & L”École du Vin de Bordeaux Tutor, Contemporary Bordeaux reds for the modern taste with Michelle Cherutti-Kowal MW and Bordeaux goes Green – Taste & learn more about organic wines from Bordeaux with Gerhild Burkard, Sommelier & L”École du Vin de Bordeaux Tutor. To accommodate different audiences, certain seminars will be in English, while others will be delivered in German, and a few will be given in both languages – a full list of seminars is included overleaf.

There will also be an introduction to OenoBordeaux, L’École du Vin de Bordeaux’s exciting B2B mobile application. Created with professionals working in wine sales and distribution in mind, the OenoBordeaux app has been especially designed to help the wine trade learn more about Bordeaux wines. Free to download on any smartphone and desktop, it has a continuous news-stream looking at trends and events in the wine world.

About the CIVB

The CIVB represents nearly 6,000 Bordeaux producers and 300 négociants (wine merchants). It has 4 missions:

  • Marketing: through various communication campaigns, the CIVB promotes the interests of its members on a national and international scale.

  • Through its Economic Research Service, the CIVB aims to improve the knowledge of its members, about markets’ trends, from production to distribution.

  • A technical mission is addressing all quality-related issues, anticipating new environmental and food safety stipulations and conserving and protecting viticultural heritage assets.

  • Finally, the general interest of the industry: protecting terroirs, fighting against counterfeiting and developing wine tourism.

About L’ École du Vin du Bordeaux

The CIVB set up the Bordeaux Wine School in 1989. For almost 20 years, it has been one of the mainstays of the promotion strategy for Bordeaux wines thanks to the wide variety of training sessions and courses it runs. The range of activities provided by the Bordeaux Wine School is aimed to appeal to wine enthusiast-consumers and to journalists, as well as to distribution and sales professionals, in France and abroad.
